The air that passes over the ball gets dragged around to the back of the ball, producing its lift. The ball starts to drop significantly due to the air flow behind the ball once it loses its carry and gravity begins to take over.
Many companies have begun making customized balls too and they have quickly become the hottest product on the market today. Many of the major brands have started doing this for their customers and offer an option to have a customized graphic printed on your ball. Some companies have pre printed graphics on balls that you can choose from, but many of them offer the choice of graphic so you can really customize it and give it that personalized touch. These balls are very unique and people buy them and use them for a large variety of purposes. Some purchase them as gifts, others use them as corporate promotional items, and some people use them as a distinctive mark, to give their balls that special look.
